Ticks Apparently they are most active in mid may and Mid June...and then again in mid October. I actually saw a big one last August. It was just sitting on the neighbors house siding. It was about the height a deer would be...and it was right next to my head as I was getting water for my neighbor's potted plants. I guess I was in shock. I didn't have a stick to kill it with so I left it alone. I must have been out of my mind. So it lived to climb on another deer. We have deer walking over the front lawn quite regularly. It occurred to me today, that I should get something done to get rid of the ticks this spring..ugghhh..and double ugghh... Ok ..got to be done..so... There must be some kind of company that does it... Any ways..a word to the wise..stay out of long Grass this spring...and off my front yard..lol Hugs to you Stars No pic this time. We've had ticks in our area the last few years. After I cut down some trees that hung over our fence they seemed to go away. Fighting fleas are a losing battle. I wash our little Chihuahua weekly and they come right back. I even treated the yard twice. It makes no difference.

I was in a DollarTree store tonight and I see my neighbor. He tells me that he found a tick on his dog, a big Belgian Shepherd. He was there to buy some shampoo and spray and tweezers. He gives his dog a monthly medication for fleas and ticks too. Yikes. I have not had a tick on my little guys...pomeranians. I live in the city. I only ever had fleas once on my animals that I had treated. The good thing is I was about to have my older fluff ball of a dog shaved this week at the groomer. So she can check him out for anything. My little punk who is less fluffy and more silky will have to go into the sink. He hates it. He tries to bite me!. I bought the tick spray and shampoo to be safe. My sister lives on the outskirts of the city. She has two rottweilers that she gives medication too now. They had a tick or two in the past and they have a scar now. There are deer in their neighborhood. So I guess ticks make more sense. Poor dears/deer.Looking forward to a good year ahead!! Stars_light4U

There'should quite a few deer on the west side. And when there are cherries, they like to stand on my front lawn under the cherry tree...  I bet you find a bunch of brown marbles left behind by the the deer!
