 Ahh but my dearest Songstress,

Isn't that a variation on the Ferris Wheel of life we are all on... as something ends or gets off the "ride" there is always a new "passenger" to step up and join. It's found in religions, it's found in politics (and we WON'T go there), it's found in love (and lust) and, hell, it's even found in Elton John songs (The Circle of Life).. lol...
