i almost died...
i almost died... i had a uterine tumor (benign) that was causing some major hemmoraging... (i cant spell it) .. I was slowly bleeding to death. My hemoglobin (which is supposed to run between 12-15) was down to under 5. The dr said I could/would have lapsed into a coma and died if I would have waited any longer. I didnt know what was happening and at first thought 'it's just menopause' till it became apparent that something was definitely wrong. They admitted me and started giving me transfusions, ran some tests and then decided I had to have surgery immediately. I had 7 units of blood in total, and they took out all the female parts, ... mostly as a preventative so that it would not happen again, nor would there be a chance of cancer. ... Ladies the moral of this story is this: If you think something is wrong... dont wait! go see a doctor! |

The fact is that some serious things can be disguised and seen as not so serious because we women are so used to feeling out of sorts during menopause. Irregular periods and such are expected as part of the process. I cant stress this enough.. ALWAYS seek medical advice and attention when things feel wrong... it can be something serious.
