If you were in a car accident would they be replacing you as soon as they could? There may not be any balloons or confetti falling from the ceiling when you drop the bomb but the longer you put it off the faster the other school will find someone. Think of it as a lesson to those up and coming business instruments you've built and are still developing( Preparatory students) .It teaches them that the best thing you can do in the world of employment is to be happy what you're doing and to seek the best opportunities you can. That's an awesome lesson for anyone in school! I've been with the same company for twenty years .So I know the camaraderie is hard to face. You'll still have friendships and sadly at the same time you'll find out who really weren't! Get a T shirt with your school's colors and logo and be wearing the same for the new school and just turn them inside out! Good luck! Using more than all the road!

Follow your heart..it's that simple. You cannot read the future. Go for it.

Good morning to you: My advice is go for the long-term planning. I am also making the assumption that since your work has been part time there has been no retirement also??? Or maybe does the hours you have worked count toward some type of retirement? I am currently retired and am really enjoying all the benefits I have worked for over the 61 years I worked. But if my work had been part time, I would have only social security. A paupers living. You have seen four directors come and go. Your school will find a way to get along without you, and you already know the folks where you would be going. Make the move, and try to make it as smooth as possible for everyone. Burn no bridges.

As a counselor, you are probably aware that individual health insurance is expensive even "Obama" care. No matter how much you love what you do remember that money makes the difference in school systems and they would turn you loose in a heart beat so you need to carefully take care of yourself.
