Update To Flakes and No Shows
Update To Flakes and No Shows Disclaimer: I recommend you read my previous blog post before starting this one if you haven't yet. I received a text message from Mr. Flake early this morning at 12:13 AM. Here is the text conversation in its entirety: Flake: "Hey. I hit a deer. Car is messed up. I will have to drive my jeep to see you. What are you doing in the morning babe?" (Mind you it has been 16 hours since I last heard a word from him) Me: "I'm amazed that you are just now getting back to me. Sorry for your luck but I am not interested in meeting." Flake: "Hun I hit a deer and it bashed the front part of my Mercedes in. I'm sorry. I didn't have cell service where I was. I'm sorry I truly am." He then sends me this photo of his car. (Do you see any damage? I sure as hell don't.) Me: "I really am not interested. Please do not contact me further." Flake: "I hit a deer." I stopped replying to him after that. Question, based on this interaction what would you conclude? Do you believe his story is plausible? I can't wrap my head around waiting 16 hours for him to return text me knowing that he knew I was waiting on him to arrive. And his car? Does it look damaged to you? I just don't see it. So, was I being a bitch? Would you give this flake the benefit or would you tell him to kick rocks? |

I don't see any damage either, and if he hit a deer his car would not be at his home, it would be in a shop, I don't blame you two hours was long enough waiting on a text from. I feel you were right in your answer and He wasn't listening to anything you were saying

I know it can be rather unnerving to hit wildlife on the highway, however, you'd think after an hour or two, he'd realize that he was on his way somewhere and that someone was waiting/expecting him and MAYBE, just maybe, he should give them a call/text to let them know that they had an unexpected encounter, is/are alright and safe, but will be unable to attend and wants a 'raincheck'. Common courtesy in my opinion.

Kick Rocks If Mr Flake was real he would call or text you and tell you he had trouble and had to cancel before the meeting...16 hours later...he's BS. I have been stood up by "no-show" bullsh_t couples and ladies too. They never get a 2nd chance if they don't call to cancel prior to the meeting time...end of story.

Possible, But not see damage either from deer!!! Does not look really messed up. Could have made contact sooner as you were expecting him and worried. Very disrespectful and Seems arrogant also "what are u doing in the morning babe?" . Ask for a picture of the damage for the heck of it, cut him loose You are complicated woman but deserve better then this!!!!!

I can't even see how your questioning it, it's 16 hours. He wasn't in the hospital, end of story. Everyone deserves consideration and respect.

He probably does not own a Mercedes. Photo looks like a down town business. Who puts guard post outside of their garage doors at home besides this is a high commercial door. Probably has an old '72 Chevrolet Biscayne. You are fretting over him????

|
If he hit a deer it doesn't seem to be with the car, I can see no damage and if there is it's minimal and no excuse for his failure to turn up!

Use a different yardstick to evaluate men... Whatever you're using ain't working!

Definitely tell him to kick rocks. From that text and photo he can't be worth you giving him the time of day. You deserve way more respect than that.

|
Maybe he hit the deer while reversing Still doesn't explain why he sent that photo though.

What I said in my prior response applied . . . right up to the pic. Then I would have said something like 'Really? That car (not sure if it really is his) looks really nice and shows no evidence of hitting a deer . . . honey'. In a sarcastic font. So, was I being a bitch? Bitch would have been cursing etc. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

I'd ask him what the deer's name was and if she was blond, brunette or a red head. Maybe the damage was to the inside of the car....where they got a bit wild playing "hide the salami".

No...you were correct. He could of called sooner. His car did not hit a deer....lol ! “Life is available only in the present moment.” Thich Nhat Hanh Come and read my blog! Become a watcher! veryfunnycple64

You nailed him on two counts...... I know Nebraska has a lot of space......but he wasn't out of cell service for 16 hours... Second where's the dent from the deer hit......unless he found a 24/7 body shop that repaired it...I would have expected quite a bit of dented steel.... he is full of crap. DId he hit the deer with the jeep instead of the mercedes lol

Initially, the response would be the same as yours............ "Forget it." The story doesn't even sound imaginative, it shouldn't have taken so many hours to get somewhere that he'd have had cell service again, and the picture is of no use at all in his story. But if you really wanted to mess with him, ask to see the towing bill. It would have a date and time. But it happens all the time. Sometimes, we think that the guy wasn't really serious. Or maybe he got cold feet. Or perhaps he just likes the on-line interaction. Or he can't meet for real because he knows that he'd been dishonest about himself (looks, build, his car, whatever). and you'd see the real deal. Cold feet, we understand. Not having the respect of giving a courtesy call to say so ahead of time? Not so much.

Small deer in front grill maybe or maybe took pic of wrong side yeah that's it. 16 hours away from cell service? Did he crawl back to somewhere that had service?

Have him show more car damage or kick him to the curb.
