Insanity, Aisle Ten....

Isn't that relaxing to look at?

So, is anyone following the mess at Fukushima? Have you been following the reports of dead, dying, or missing sea creatures washing up on beaches? Like the two rarely seen Oarfish and the Beaked Whale that washed up in California not too many weeks ago?
Do you ever wonder about what is going to happen if the Pacific Ocean becomes too contaminated to support life?
History has taught us nothing apparently.
The Marshall Islands. Mercury, Nevada.
Both of these are nuclear testing grounds.
They are still cleaning up both places. There are still people from the Marshall Islands who cannot return home, that we are still shipping food and supplies to, fifty some years later.
There is a website for cancer victims of the Nevada test site.

Today, on page eleventy two of the news, behind the wonderful news of Bookface changing the way the "like and share" buttons look, and Twit-turds great opening day stock sales, there was an article about a Japanese law maker breaking the protocol of how to address the emperor, by handing him a hand written note addressing his concerns about what is happening with the nuclear power plant in Fukushima. At one time that act would have likely cost him his life, but thankfully the Japanese are no longer as brutal with their punishment, so he will likely be forced to resign, or at the very least suspended, instead of being killed.
Why would a newly elected career person piss away all his hard work to try to address this issue to the one person whose word is law?
I'm thinking it is a lot worse than anything we are being told.

I think I am done with the news reading for the day. I am gonna go stick my head in the sand, because honestly that is about all I can do about it today.

the news...you're lucky you found a real tidbit.
i was pissed off earlier this week because people here were bitchin' because the temps went down to the upper teens at night. boo hoo, asshats. how'd you like to have weather like they just had in the Phillipines...? i'm growing weary of the "woe is me" attitude. woe is all around us and few give a rat's ass. woe is about to eat up all of us...

You know, if folks started thinking for themselves again and stopped agreeing with every fucking commercial that is on the television we would be able to at least pull out of a few of the messes we have going on.
I have very little in life, I am blessed to have people who care about me so that I have a roof over my head and food to eat, but possessions have never been anything I found 'necessary'. Nice to have things, but I am certainly not going to die if I don't. When I think of people in places like Afghanistan or Iraq...not the militant idiots who want power and control and money, but the people who live there, whose families live there...the teachers and the cooks and the farmers, ordinary people just like me who want to live in peace and die at home of an old age having lived a good life....and I think about what kind of hell their day to day life must be, it breaks my heart in a million pieces. Then you go on bookface and listen to the whining over shit that will not make one damn bit of difference at the end of the day. It's too hot, too cold, I ain't got enough money to drive a Porsche, I need a new $600 phone.....it really makes me want to laugh in their faces. Or sit down and weep at the stupid that is eating this country alive. They all better realize that, there but for the grace of God and the Constitution, go we.

the photo of a couple cruisin down the road is sweet, especially in november. the appetite of humanity to pollute mother earth makes me sick. greed pushes ahead of consideration for health, safety, wildlife. i don't watch the news either,BTW

The only way we are ever going to fix anything is if we stand together as one world and demand change. And that is never going to happen.
I took that shot back in August, out the window of a truck on the turnpike between my house and my kiddos house this summer. I was jealous lol.

Fukushima is a mess. Because of it's proximity to the ocean it could be a worse disaster than Chernobyl, which after almost 28 years still isn't completely contained.

Read my diary Journal of a Taxi Driver for taxi stories and pictures of flowers and trees.

Some days I even wonder why I read the news.

This is not meant to offend any one in any way.

Oh, between this and fracking and pipeline spills and mining and deforestation? I am afraid for these little ones I see. I have been blessed with a life of plenty. I just hope we can get our heads out of our asses and see to it that they have the same opportunity.

In my youth, I traveled that way as often as I could. Now, it is too much like work.
