to tell the truth

Is it really so hard to tell the truth? To be upfront and honest about who you are and what you seek? I'm a straight forward open and honest person to use the things I share with you to stack the deck in your favor is just wrong.

Why do men and women refuse to be themselves? Someone please help me understand why it is so hard to be honest with someone?
What makes someone feel the only way they can get close to someone here is to lie and pretend?

I mean come on we are all adults and the truth always comes out.

Your honosty and straight forwardness is a breath of fresh air but unfortunately it is not the norm. I believe its human nature especially when finding a mate, to make yourself seem better and more worthy than the next person. After all we are just another species of animal running around with a pre-wired sense of urgency to procreate so unfortunately the majority of people will continue to puff their feathers and dance around wildly hoping to find a willing mate lmao kisses sweetness... have a great one!

I'm with you Sugaree! I've found, as I'm sure you have with your many years of online experience, that people are deceptive online for several reasons: 1) its too easy to pretend when online as some people fall into the trap of just typing words and the person they chat with and see on the screen isn't real; 2) just as polarbear said of a person trying to make him/her-self more attractive to others; and, 3) some people are just pathological liars who gain pleasure out of deceiving others and they have no intention of doing anything other than playing around with others to their own agenda. Its quite sad that we see all of these people online, but in reality they are out there in the world and we interact with them in real life too.

Oh, and I was reminded of another reason for online deception. 4) some people are just so desperate to find so something that they say anything in an attempt find someone. You can tell these folks right away as they are connect with lots of folks and then a day or two later they have suddenly found the love of their life. I suppose it is possible, but I seriously doubt it happens as often as I have seen it online!
