SKI SUNDAY  The Winter Olympics have just got under way. Beijing is the first city, albeit in controversial circumstances, to host both the summer and winter Olympic games. This Winter Olympics are the first when all the snow used is artificial. I like watching most sports so I will be watching the Winter Olympics, or at least the highlights. My three favourite winter sports are ice hockey, ski cross and curling. Ice hockey is one of my favourite sports to watch. It is fast, skilful and tough. The Great Britain ice hockey team, now ranked 16th in the world, rarely make it to the Winter Olympics; only eight teams qualify for the games. Great Britain did win a bronze medal in 1924 and, incredibly, a gold medal in 1936. I will be rooting for Canada this Olympics. I enjoy watching ski cross, especially as a lot of skiers fall over. Ski jumping is good to watch too, particularly if there is a crash landing. Speed skating is also fun as there is much tripping over as skates collide. The bobsleigh, luge and skeleton make for good viewing as the potential for mishaps is high. It seems I like sports with lots of accidents! Probably the most popular winter sport here, now that Torvill and Dean have long since retired from ice dancing, is curling. Curling is basically bowling on ice. Great Britain, or more accurately Scotland, often wins medals in this sport. Eve Muirhead, a top Scottish Olympian curler, is also good at curling her tongue around the cock of her husband. Once I had a ski lesson on a dry ski slope but it was a dispiriting experience. The ski instructor was far more interested in giving his instruction to my two female friends than me. I was left to my own devices on the slope, which largely meant falling over, and I gave up after seeing lots of effortlessly ski past me. I have never had sex in the snow or on the ice. I have not watched any of the Olympics yet. I was so disappointed about how politicized the previous round was, that I have just lost interest. But, I do like curling. I’m fascinated by it. I don’t know why. But when I do watch, that is what I am most interested in. I think that the female skaters are fantastic. So graceful and athletic. I would like to do the skeleton. Looks exciting. I used to snow ski quite often. But kinda let it go when kids were little and schedules were more hectic. I miss it. Wifey and I talk about going. Olympics in measured amounts are fun to watch. Figure skating is interesting because I appreciate how difficult it is to do a triple-Lutz. I skate to the grocery store and occasionally ski over to church meetings. Sex outdoors? Yep... I described the details in a short tale titled - Frozen Lust. It's gotta be tried to be appreciated. I am watching as well. Bering watching the hockey and curling. This past weekend is our Scottie tournament for the women’s curling playoffs. The winner goes into the Worlds if they have it this year. Are you watching the Winter Olympics? I suspect I won't watch much this time - last time I got too irritated with the evening coverage where they were throwing in commercials every five minutes, and holding back the sports that people REALLY want to watch until the last half hour of the broadcast. Maybe I need to look into just paying for one month of premium Peacock (NBC's streaming app) so I can watch what I want to watch, on demand. Can you ski or skate? Yes to both, although I haven't ice skated in many years. I was a pretty avid cross country skier for a time and did some citizen XC ski races (I never was competitive, it was more about completing the distance). Have you ever had sex in the snow or on the ice? No way Jose! Probably the most adventurous I've been was running out and rolling in the snow after being in a sauna.

As it was F. A. Cup 4th round weekend, I didn't get around to watching any of the Winter Olympics. I'll have to catch up.

Are you watching the Winter Olympics? Not watching it live primarily due to the time difference. Although I did watch some of the summer Olympics last year from Japan so go figure that one. Am only watching some of the clips on the sports website. Can you ski or skate? I can water ski. And I've not tried ice skating since my school days. Have you ever had sex in the snow or on the ice? Eh no. I'm not convinced that photo is Eve - if you check the moles on her arm, I can't find a pic of Eve with the same mole pattern. They do both have lovely eyes though.
