To trust, to really trust, for me takes a very long time. Over a year in some cases.

Once its broken its gone.

It depends on the person. With some people I trust them almost instantly and have remained good friends with them for almost 1/2 my life (one even said if he could pick someone for his brother vs his real brother he would pick me). Other people take time with no real predetermined limit before trust is reached.

As for broken trust I just stop talking to them, in most cases. I've forgiven a few of them, but on the rare occasion I try to rebuild (mostly due to sentiment) I find that once I do I no longer care. Then we just drift apart again and all is well.

I probably trust people too much... Sometimes it does bite you...

My motto has always been, treat people the way you want to be treated.
So I trust and respect people. to a fault...

To really trust for me takes a long time, and so far have not been deceived. Kisses
