Dating/Fucking in your Tax Bracket
I'm ridiculously proud of what I've accomplished at the ripe old age of 30. I work too hard, don't spend enough time with friends and family, give myself to my career and it financially, rewards me with all sorts of shit. My goal at the end is to eventually find some balance... but that's a blog post for another day.

Today, I ponder the concept of fucking/dating people who are in the same financial boat as you are.

A few years ago, I went out on a couple dates with this guy. The first date went really well and we set up the second one. After the second one, he walked me back to my car and his jaw dropped. "You drive THAT????" Uh ya.... It was almost as though I could see his balls getting inverted into his body. He clenched, shook his head, pointed and asked the same question again. After I explained that yes, I am single, yes, I am financially doing well, he kissed me and left. After that, he called and explained that he has a need to be the main bread winner in a relationship.

Whatevs. No skin off my back. But that situation totally changed the way I looked at dating. Now, im wondering if people use the same qualifying to determine who they fuck next.

For me, you must be financially stable. You don't need to be driving a mother fukin Bugatti (and if you don't know what that is, we cant be friends anymore), but you need to be driving something comparable to what I drive. You need to be living on your own and capable of hosting a woman in your home.

Do you care where people stand financially if you are fucking? Or just if you are dating? Does it matter at all? Or am I the only weirdo?

 Oh I wish I could have a Veyron, i'll just settle for a 575M Maranello, my dream car.

I know I will probably be the bread winner in anything I walk into, but no it doesn't bother me at all if she makes more. Why would I fret over being safer long-term? That makes no sense. It doesn't even factor into my reasoning to fuck or date someone.

The only question I ever have is whether she's a gold-digger, or just so dumb she'll spend every dime I make without thought of what a 401k or IRA really is there for.

Do I like the traditional roles? Yes a little. If I have kids I'd rather her be home taking care of them until they are old enough, but if she wants a career I won't stop it.

Does all of the above factor into who you fuck? From your words, it sounds like it definitely applies to who you date. But does it matter if your just getting into someones pants?

 It does matter obviously to some, but really different tax brackets shouldn't be an issue...
But extreme's can be hard to deal with..
So close is close enough from what I see...
Not too many Bugatti's to worry about in Canada...
Lots of nice vehicles out there....
But if one person drives a aston, and another drives a 15 year old
rusted pick up.. prob not the best situ...
Especially for dating... maybe not so much for fucking...

 I've generally driven cars that are older by quite a bit. It isn't that I couldn't afford a newer car, but I would rather drive something older that I own with as few payments as possible. Then I can use my cash for other stuff

As for having my fuck buddy or date/SO making more than me, if she doesn't care either I don't see the point in getting upset. I don't plan on mooching and wouldn't want her to if the roles were reversed.

I could do better than a 575 for sure, but for the money its gorgeous in red.

If you have an MP4-12C laying around I'd take that instead, or maybe a 458 Italia? No?

No what they make doesn't factor into my dating either, unless its like pennies. I could marry a teacher and be happy if we love one another. If she makes comparable to me, all the better, but I don't even register it in most cases. It certainly doesnt factor into who I wanna fuck -- i'll fuck the dumb gold diggers
