Studies have shown that when women live in close proximity for extended periods their cycles tend synchronize... I think shark week to the fifth power would far outweigh the perks. But what do I know.. I'm still single.. lol

It is an interesting idea, but I don't think its for me either. Not that I would appreciate the ardor of 5 different woman at one time, I prefer to focus my attention on one woman at a time and I prefer she do the same for me. Fuck, does that make me old fashioned? Damn how did that happen?

I think that it's important to point out that there is a clear difference between polygamy (husband with many wives) and polyamory (many loves). There are a lot more people who successfully and happily practice polyamory which isn't at all controlling, misogynistic, or degrading. I suspect that a program showcasing polygamy probably works those angles in on some level to try and increase the level of drama.

I guess if you're brought up in it, the drama just doesn't materialize like it does in any other monogamous society. I don't have any strong opinion against it otherwise, its just not my way. I have tried to juggle multiple women. I learned not to try. I only want one girl now. If she wants other women involved then thats a discussion we can have, and I can do it, so long as I don't feel pushed into it like I was before. I don't really know what to think of it. On paper it sounds good, but I don't think I could pull off 5 wives. I'm sure at least one would be mad at me for something at any given time!

I think this concept is mysogynistic and came from a time when men who were rich and powerful could control women sexually by placing them in their harems. These places were populated by eunochs who had their jolly roger hacked off and had high pitched voices. That shows how these patriarchs distrusted any man approaching their property. The religions which espouse polygamy are very patriarchal and controlling of women who must know their place and give up their own rights. This has no room in a modern democratic society where all are equal. When we see polygamy favouring women then I'll know that things have truly changed.

I feel compelled to watch those shows too, can't understand how it all works in harmony. But if they can make it work it's a great idea.
