Snow....

The other four letter word.

While I'm not really crazy about apartment life, there is one thing I do appreciate. Someone else is responsible for making sure the walks are shoveled and the drive is plowed.

Have I mentioned that I hate snow?

Cold, wet, messy, a fiasco waiting to happen. Whether it's the 19 layers of clothing required to keep warm as you travel back and forth to work or the zero visibility caused by lake effect snow, whatever way you choose to look at it, it all sucks.

I'm already longing for summer.

Sometimes it is better than others.
Snow means a fireplace going and the potential for a good nights rest under heavy blankets.
The clothing, I laugh and chuckle, because I do that too. It helps pad my backside for when I fall down though, so there is a plus.
Don't like the shoveling though. Have had to clear up to 8 feet of packed snow and ice before. Long hard days, and then being too sore to sleep. Winter does indeed suck. The life right out of ya' Thankfully summer still rolls around roughly on time. then there are a few months before the next spell of weather. But that is another story
Me, I look forward to summer because then I can grow a garden. Tis a redeeming feature in life for me

I am so with you Lonely. If my kids weren't in Michigan I would be somewhere south of any snow.

Last year was my first year living in the area. What an introduction to living in the mitt of Michigan. I made the best of it, I played in the snow with snowshoes and enjoyed see the deer in the snow.
I think that's what we all do, make the best of it. LOL Trudging back in forth to work with a foot of snow in the road, white outs when the wind blows, frost bite from shoveling....

It does look pretty freshly fallen though Theres parts of the country that never have or will see snow. It does make for a great excuse to stay in and have fun
If it weren't for my kids, I'd probably live in those parts of the country. Northern Michigan is beautiful in the summer, and winter sports enthusiasts love the winters around here, but it's really lost it's luster for me. After spending nearly the entire winter last winter with below zero temps, I've had enough, I think.

I'm pretty sure the snow is here to stay, now. It's nothing to get upwards of 70 inches of snow during a normal winter where I live. Ugh...
