Much harder than walking in 3 inch heels! To get people to understand what it is like to be Transgender. What it was like growing up not realizing that I was Transgender. I was afraid of being a homosexual. When I first started to wear woman’s clothes, I was young and my parents chalked it up as a “Phase”. Something I would grow out of. But as time marched on, I found myself enjoying the dressing. I “Borrowed a bra here. “Borrowed” a dress there, and hid them about the house. I put them in places that if found, one would think it was an accident they got there. I soon discovered that was a mistake. I did not know why when my brother went to his “Play Doctor” I was made to go also. Not only did I have to go I had to see the Dr. myself. And every time I was asked about the dress or bra. As Any normal did back, was to pretend I had no idea what they were talking about. Without being caught dressed, they were not able to push the subject. As I think back that must have been the reason my parents acted the way they did. The news would come on describing murder, and they would always say it must have been committed by a homosexual. Only homosexuals can commit such bad things. A would disappear and they always said it would not surprise me if it was a homosexual. It made no difference what the crime was, if it was gruesome, or gory it was done by the homosexuals. I know today, that was never true. Sure there may have been a few, but it is widely know that heterosexual’s and homosexual’s have no exclusiveness in murders and assault crimes. If fact it is well know that about 90 percent of abductions or crimes against are done by pedophiles or the other non-custodial parent And there are not that many homosexual’s that are pedophiles. Okay I know the numbers are not correct but the results’ are the same. Why are Straight people afraid of Homosexuals? According to them If you are Gay! You are after their . Be true to yourself.” So, you may ask what all this has to do with being Transgender? Think back to when Anita Bryant was pitching Florida Orates and of all her rants in the press about Homosexuals. She always used the name Bruce. She was always describing Gays as flower prancing around in dresses. And she was not the only one. Most of the time if you gay, Half were said to be dressing in woman’s clothes the other half were the “men” in the pairing. If Straights thought of Gay people we all wore woman’s clothing. To a point that could be said as true, but of the great majority we all dress as the gender we are. (I am using the Royal WE when I say it) Back then I t was never really mentioned that you were a Homosexual and a woman. Back then it was normal for two women to rent a place together. Nothing was really said about it. As the woman grew older it was because single women did not make that much and it is always cheaper for friends to live together. Back then people did not flaunt being gay or a Lesbian. He kissed and or held hands in private. If they went out it was either to a dark bar or somewhere where they could be alone. All homosexuals were classified as one group of many names: Fagotts, Queers, Drag Queens, Closet Queens, He-She’s, Transvestites, Trany, Cross-Dressers, Twinkle Toes, Flames, and Flamers. Do notice, that the majority are Female in gender ID. We also had: Fagotts, Queers Dykes, Bull Dykes, She-He’s all describing a woman acting as a man with another woman. All, dressing like a man. Why do we not say they are Transvestites or Cross-Dressers? Slowly we have gotten the most of them wiped from memory. Although there are a few that some still use them Unfortunately they are still use in our little groups. They are just like the African-Americans that call each other the “N” word. Some say it in jest. Others because they feel empowered using “the word. And still others because if a white person uses it like they are in jest as the group does, they Scream Racist!! I understand that it will take a while to lose those words. Have them banished from our vocabulary. But do we need to call each other any of them? It does not matter to most straight’s. For in their eyes there was only one group, and it is referred to men! We all Homosexuals and we are after their ! If you look back in history and it still happens today, if a teacher, Youth leader, Scoutmaster, Consoler, or preacher comes out and say they are Gay! There is an outcry of the vocal few. Parents all up in arms, demanding the person involved be fired! They do not want that person anywhere near their ! . We no longer use those words to describe us. Instead we use Labels like: Gay, Lesbian, Transsexuals, Transgender, And here it is. I am back talking about Transgender people. ‘Transgender refers to both the Male and Female Genders. They are people that identify themselves as a member of the opposite Gender. This can be done in dress, or it can be in their minds they identify as the other gender. Some may to dress as a man in the case of the person is a female. Or a man dressing as a woman some will dress for a few hours or a day. And still other will dress 24/7. Some of them that dress 24/7 will decide to change their gender with SRS and they are Transsexuals. Some Transgenders are Gay, or Bi. There are others that say they are Straight. And there are still others that consider themselves as Straight even though they have sex with a person of the same gender. As dressed as a woman they are a woman in their mind. They have no desire to have sex with man when dressed as a man. Nor when they are dressed as a woman, would think of doing penetration sex to another man. To them those are Bi. They are a woman after all and women have sex with men. Even if it is in their mind. So confusing! Also in the Label of Transgender you have Transvestites Cross-Dressers, Too wit both mean the same but in this Labeling Transvestites have Sex. Cross- Dressers normally are men or woman that are Heterosexual and only like the feel or how they look as a man or woman. Then we have the good old stereotype Drag Queens. They are the very obvious Cross-Dresser or Transvestite. They are Entertainers’. Dressed for the shock value. Some Pass, others are very obvious, Most are Heterosexual. Some Are Bi. And some are Gay. Drag Queens are the ones that comes to mind of Staights as being all Gays in one way or another. So back once again to the question of why are Transgender’s and Transsexuals treated unfairly by Gay’s? One answer I received on a pole; Because men look silly when dressed as a woman. Sure, there are men that have to work hard to look Feminine But because they don’t, do they have to be ridiculed? Made fun or and At? Guys, Do not laugh or point to them or point them out to others. They know they are not passing but they are trying to blend in with the crowd, Same goes for the women out there. Why not give a nice word telling them that they made a nice try and if they wish you could help them. The last thing they want is the unnerving pressure and the ridicule thrust upon them. They need encouragement not to be made fun of. I have had this happen to me lots of times with no one offering any guidance! I use to fill my bra out to a size “D” cup. I had a nice blond or Red wig. My make-up could have used some help when inside in the light. It did a passing job on the night street. When I walked, I had hips that moved. An ass padding that filled my backside out, but not overly far, but big enough to give me nice curves. I wore 3 inch spikes with thigh his and a garter belt. My legs always had a couple of dark stockings on them. I wore a nice blouse with a somewhat short skirt, Rings, necklace, earrings to punch it up. I was hit on by many Straights and also by TG admirers. I would let them pick me up and eventually we would end up kissing. If they wanted to tongue me I would and naturally their hands went to one of my breasts and they would feel me up. A few more minutes and a hand would touch my knee. I would break off the kissing and I would tell them they will find surprise under my skirt. Most of the time they would look at me and ask what and I would tell them I am a man. Some shrugged if off saying they knew. Some but not many, would then say good-bye and split. Still others did not believe me and in their own words “I was too gorgeous, too beautiful to be a man Even after they rubbed my pussy area they were in disbelieve And I had to pull my panties down and let them spread my legs. So I went to the store and bought two bras, one a “B” cup the other a “C” My body is a little more the a b cup and a c needs to be augmented with enhancers. Now I feel more comfortable and none has walked up to honk me since. So why did they just walk by and honk me? Why did they make fun of me? Was it because that was the way for them as they came out? Or was it because they were just being mean? Why not take me off the dance floor or wherever and talk!. Tell me what was going on! Give a girl a chance! I honestly believe the reason why it is so hard got people is because TG’s and TS’s are a painful reminder of the early years of being misconstrued that all gay men want to be a women and dress like them. Many of us understand that we don’t pass. But TG’s are wanting to blend in with the crowd. Give us some constructive criticism not ridicule! See one of us and walk up Say Hi! Tell them how nice they look and be honest with us. After the praise give us some advice if you see a problem. Mention to them how you admire their courage. We may not ever get the approval of the Bible Thumpers, preachers and Lay men alike. We will never get the real haters to understand our way of life! It is their way and we admire them for their believes s misguided as we believe they are. They will only get out of the Bible what they want to see. And yes there Homosexuals mentioned in the Bible some good and some bad just like Heterosexuals they have good ones all the way to being evil. But if they opened their minds to the words they will understand it is Gods way to Love ALL his and it is the way man in his religions believe does he interrupts it, that makes people believe they are sinning in Gods eyes. So like I said, there are those with their beliefs, and there are some Gay’s that will NEVER understand and let the Gays live their lives. Notice most of the arguments on Same Sex Marriage are from the religious right. So why is the Trans Community treat so badly, from both Straight and Gay?? Some of it is that we are not understood. And there are some people that will NEVER understand. We are accepted in many places. And not welcomed in others. If you do not understand us, Sit down and ask questions. Ask questions that means something that deserves an answer Not ones like reporters have be TV or radio or Print: Firefighters are still fighting the fire and while they are still actively fighting, A Reporter sticks a microphone in a firefighters face and asks the most stupid, the most asinine question: “Chief How did this Fire Start?” Life is short and I like who I am! |
