Doing Dumb Things I’ve done some really dumb things in my life. I got pregnant the first time I ever fucked. The guy that got me pregnant only fucked me to prove to his friend that he wasn’t gay. We were at a party. I got drunk. He was cute. So I did the really stupid thing of letting him fuck me in front of a couple of his friends. We were under a blanket so they couldn’t see much, but could see enough to know we really were fucking. When I found out I was pregnant his family made him marry me. In another dumb move I agreed. Turns out the guy really is gay and our honeymoon night was popcorn and old movies. We never came close to ever having sex after that one time at the party. We got divorced right after the baby was born. That was not a dumb move. One would think that after I got pregnant I would have learned the value of a condom. Another dumb move: the second time I ever have sex was a one-night-stand with a guy I’ve known for a while. I got an STD. I got it treated right away. That was not a dumb move. I now carry condoms with me where ever I go. I have some in my purse, by my bed and when I’m don't carry my purse I keep a couple of condoms in my pocket or bra. I'm not as naive as I used to be.  |

Its not dumb when we learn from our mistakes, its dumb when we make the same mistake over and over again.

It sounds like you're getting over your "Dumb Age", and have definitely gained some valuable wisdom. It's too bad we don't/didn't listen more to our parents when we were all younger since they already survived the dumb shit some of us learn the hard way.

Wisdom comes from experience. Experience comes from...well, living. All choices have consequences. Some are good and some are bad, but learn from all of them. Learnimg from the experience of other people helps but some things can only be learned from direct experience. The trick is knowing which way of learning best suits you for which experience. Sylvia, We have all done DUMB things......but that is how we learn. I never like to see anyone refer to experiences being dumb etc.... so I will leave you with this quote. "Experience ....is what happens when people... don't get what they want. Education....is what we people get.....when they read the fine print."

Inexperience is often labeled as being dumb. It is easy to look back and think of all the better options in retrospect.
