What you don

Yeah, my pissed off level is pegged right now. For anyone wondering I do have a in Iraq, he has been there for a year.

These lame assed congressional people who are trying to fight a war, sitting on their warm fat asses in congress are the ones who need to put on an 80lb helmet,100lb gear and go out there. They want facts, they keep going on "fact finding trips" MY ASS!! what they are doing is generating interest and money for the election for their OWN PROFIT.

Nancy Pelosi, an egotistical, idiot does NOT speak for this woman. What made her think that she a FEMALE, was going to prance into a culture that does not even recognize females as a life form and SHE is the big one who is going to make all the difference in the world, oh yeah Nancy, your voice especially the one where you proved that females are idiots, when you told the Saudis and the world that Syria was ready to negotiate peace and within less than 24 hours Syria said WE NEVER SAID THAT!!!.

I am sick and tired of Congress thinking they are smarter than the Generals in the field!! Everyone believes the shit they are told on TV CNN or as the soldiers call it Communist News Network!! Well folks, allow me to give you a little insight to how the IRAQI SOLDIERS DO WORK. Read this email, I received then YOU tell me that these people do not want freedom, or are not working, dying and sacrificing THEIR LIFES TO GET IT.

Hello All:

I have not written in a while. I do so now with a heavy, yet joyful heart.

Many have asked, why do we not motivate the Iraqi's to "do things themselves" well... I can now release proof to you that we are.

Some time ago, not long but I cannot say when. We received a call...or more accurately a cry. The Iraqi's had selected an outpost, they did it their way, we advised, but they chose THEIR way. The cry was that outpost....being wiped out. Every man, 11 Brave soldiers, Men I did not know well...but that I knew. NO Americans were there. NO Americans were hurt

There is plenty of fault to go around, the outpost was too small, the soldiers asleep. The insurgents rushed the camp with mortar, grenades, machine gun and small arms. The insurgents numbered 40, they were 12.

The Barbarism was extreme.... after killing or executing the solders, the insurgents took the cell phones to call the soldiers superiors and family, and joyously describe what they had done.

They would have done more had the brave men of our Attack helicopter had not exercised initiative, when we sent the distress call and the helos rushed to the scene.

When I arrived...the Iraqi officers, cheeks streaked with tears..were taking the parts that were left for Burial. 2 Landrovers were afire, soldiers missing, we knew where they were. There was only one U.S. Soldier trained in forced entry in a vehicle, and with any fire experience. No Medic ever gets used to it...but It had to be done. Shoulder to shoulder with my Brothers in the Iraqi army. The Scene was surreal. The smoke drifting over the silent position, the carnage, everyone moving, no one talking for fear of disturbing the reverence. In war, the enemy is not the only one who gets hurt.

My title says grief and Joy. No doubt CNN or FOX would list this as a humiliating defeat. But that is only the surface. It is said success is a poor teacher. and the price of failure high. As a result, the Iraqi's have learned a painful lesson, the Outpost was rebuilt that day, and many corrections made. and they will try again. They did not flee.

It's also said, no man hath greater love than to lay down his life for a friend. then what does this say of 11 men who laid down their life for complete strangers, innocents they sought to protect from the brutality of these insurgents. An Insurgent so determined they will use in a car to bring unarmed people closer to the blast. Insurgents who will take British soldiers, in international water, minimally armed and peaceful, and subject them to humiliation, and then have the audacity to criticize the west, for not apologizing, when they trapped innocent in a car with a bomb, to kill more.

I can not imagine what will happen to these people, my friends, if we leave prematurely, before these soldiers are ready. When Iran and Syrian swoop in and put on a media blackout. If this is what they do to SOLDIERS. I cannot imagine what they would do to the innocent civilians.

I have now experienced the Iraqi grieving process. They do not console each other, it seems grief is a personal thing, instead they wear a red neckerchief..that they use to dry their tears, to tell others they will not rest till those responsible are found. They say things like "God will Forgive them (the dead soldiers) and "God has called them home..."

For our part. I would like to Remember this Easter, Remember it because no matter the religion, no good deed, no matter how small, shall be overlooked in the eyes of Heaven. these men did not die, but were reborn.

The Funeral showed the Caskets hoisted to the villagers shoulders. the women cut their hair to throw on top of the Martyrs coffin, a signal that says...in losing you my friend, we lost much.

I would ask you all..to remember in your prayers this easter:

NAMES DELETED FOR SECURITY REASONS

They died defending their country to their honor, the Outpost never stopped operation, 12 more soldiers stood up and took their place.

Remember them as we celebrate our Lord resurrection. God bless all.

I deliberated a long time before I decided to add this topic to my blog. However, I feel it's high time that others learned and heard some of the GOOD things that are coming out of Iraq.

I PERSONALLY!! have spoken with several Intrepreters that work for my son. Three to be exact. I would share with you some of the conversations I have had.

With the first one, when I spoke with him, he said "Mam, I would like to tell you something." I asked him what it was he had to tell me.

"Mam, I want to thank you for letting your son come here to save our life. Without him, and your army, we would all be dead". "If you are ever able to come to my country, my home, my wife, my children, they are all yours". " I thank you, my country thanks you".

By the time he finished I was in tears.

The second one told me quite similar, however, he added:

"Mam, he is my brother, I will protect him with my life, if there is a life to give, I will give it in his place".

The third, said: "Mam, we will protect him, and keep him safe for you, do not worry we will let no harm come to him".

Quite the opposite of what you are fed and seen on TV isn't it. Let's add to the equasion a bit more.

The only time I have seen my son since he left me a year ago, was for 2 weeks in November. When he came home, he brought me gifts from the Iraqi Soldiers, and Intrepreters.

I have a gold watch, I have a full formal three piece Iraqi ladies dress, given me by a Colonel in the Iraqi Army, one sent me his prayer beads as he had nothing more he could give. I have a Chi Tea set, all edged in gold, in a lovely golden box. One intrepreter recently sent me a box of candy made over there. There were also gifts for my daughter that they sent home.

The Iraqi Soldiers, are living in squallor, as they do not have shelters yet they fight on. Some have lived for over 3 years in nothing more than a tent type shelter that is merely overhead, inside you can see their beds, and few belongings. Yet when our troops come in or go into villages, the villagers will come out and pour Chai for them to share. For every one that is killed by the insurgents, 2 come to replace him.

I have looked at hundreds of photos sent home to me, not only from my son, but the men in his unit that combine together to send them all home.

There is some humor that comes along with the serious situations. One time when he first got there, he was in the back of a Jeep that was going uphill. He and his intrepreter were in the rear just the driver up front. Each time they got to a hill, the driver would stop, sit there a minute, and say something in Arabic, and then say "BUSH". This happened a couple of times, when my son asked the Intrepreter, "Is he saying Bush, as in George Bush my President?". The Intrepreter replied yes he is.

The fuel they get there is not as high octane as we have, so it does not always propel the vehicles up those hills. As was explained to my son, Allah is very busy, and you can only invoke his name and ask him for very important things. So, the driver figured, he had to call on the next best person, to help him get that jeep up the hill, that person was George W. Bush. So each hill, they stopped he said his arabic prayer ending with "In the name of Bush" and then up the hill they would go!!.

They lived very poorly, nothing is wasted, the houses are adobe that they make if they have a home. Each home has a holy room, or prayer room that they pray 5 times a day in. One of the very first homes my son was searching for insurgents, he took a photo and sent it to me and asked me "Mom if someone at home asks you if we should be here, do we need to be here please show them this photo.

That photo is of OUR SIGNING OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE!! it is a very large tapestry, that is hanging in that room, right under the paper picture of their Koran, that they couldn't afford to buy. So yes they DO know and WANT Freedom!!

I will tell much more here as I go. These are things, that the American people never hear about and SHOULD!!.

Imagine yourself living in a country today, that only has electricity for a specified amount of hours. No phones, no tv, no radio, no birth or death records, no hospitals, or medical facility available to you.

Here is a scenario of fact how these people lived under Saddam. If Saddam decided to go into a village, and select a person to have a farm, he would tell him, that he would build his farm for him, stock it etc. The profits from that farm would ALL go to Saddam in gratitude.

Now a neighbor says, hey I want a farm too, but I will build it myself. WRONG. Saddam and his men said "How dare you, look what you do to Saddams land, and he was summarily murdered for daring to try to venture into something himself".

EVERYTHING the people were allowed to have, was "given" by the benefactor Saddam. These people never knew, or had anything by their own gain, it wasn't allowed. NOW we expect these people who for their entire life, had to live at the whim of one man to just turn around and become self sufficient over night.

Before we invaded Iraq, they had two radio stations or tv stations that played 24/7 ONLY about Saddam and his greatness. There was no entertainment, no sit coms, nada, just Saddam. NOW they have satellite dishes, they receive all sorts of entertainment, and they believe having that dish gives them status. They will live in a house with no furniture but have that dish!!.

During a training exercise, my son, instructed one of the Iraqi Soldiers to put his ear plugs in to save his hearing. The soldier looked at him and said "Why do I need to do that, I will never live to be old enough to lose my hearing". THAT is a way of life. They expect they will die, can you imagine living with that thought, that expectation? They have a standard saying in Iraq. In Sha Allah, meaning "it's gods will".

These people now watch the CNN and other news that broadcast the protests, the screaming people in OUR country, and they DO NOT UNDERSTAND!! They ask questions that the people in this country NEVER ask. One of which is "what is wrong with the people in YOUR country, they act like animals, and insult their leaders". These people would never dream of doing that, and frankly the image we present to the outer world is not one that is the least bit flattering.

Imagine you sending your significant other or child to a store and they never return, never to be heard from again. Well, unless someone who knows you is standing right there when you die, no one ever knows what happens to these people. They simply are gone.

If you ask these people what they did before for entertainment etc. the reply is "it was boring". No duh!

They are thrilled to have cell phones, there is NO established phone system in any place other than the very main stream towns like Baghdad. If you live in a village or out of the city tough luck. With us being there, that is one of the reasons they ALL have cell phones, it's their only source of communicating now.

These people have asked our soliders "how many hours in a day do you get to use electricity". Now, stop and think about that question. This is something we all take for granted, that is at the flip of a switch at our fingertips, not for a few hours.

On the humorous side, they do try and emulate us, and our americanisims. During one meeting, when they were questioning an Iraqi general, about the intermittent electricity, with all due seriousness, he looked up and replied with a shrug of his shoulders, "we have electricity for a short time, then, it's tits up!". Our soldiers all burst out laughing at his comparrison.

On my son's first deployment, when we first invaded, he viewed children some as young as 5 years old hanging on meat hooks! ALIVE. This was how Saddam ruled and controlled his people. You did as you were told, or you died, and your family died.

Many times when our soldiers go into a village, the villagers see or hear the tanks and troops, and they run out with greetings, and servings of Chai, which is their tea. Chai as my son described it, is take a mini cup, demi tasse, and put in 4 tea bags, and then 5 spoons of sugar!! but it's all they have to offer and yet they will run out and offer it to us many times in the middle of the street.

I see and hear daily the outrage that we have lost 3,500+ men in this war. Folks, put that in some perspective!! Yes, those are precious lives each and every one, and were my son to be one of them I would be as devastated as those families.

However, in WWII we lost 400,000 Americans, in the same amount of time. In WWI we lost 100,000, and during the Civil War, we lost 600,00 on both sides. Bear in mind that the population of our country during the Civil War and WWI was far LESS than it is today. If you adjust the figures by todays population that cost would have been 6 MILLION people would have died during the Civil War. The same for WWII, adjusted by population, they would have lost 800,000.

With the population of our country as it is today, we have lost 3,500 and counting!!

For those who keep howling Bush lied, people died. Why is it the American people have such short memories, and selective memories. Everyone keeps saying how great it was BEFORE BUSH.

Stop and remember:
in 1979 We had the hostage situation, the hostages were held for over 400 days

The bombings of the Khobar Towers in SAudi Arabia

The attack on the Marine Barracks during the REagan administration.

Or, the attacks on our embassies in Tanzania and Kenya.

How about the FIRST attack on the World Trade Center in 1993, not to mention 9/11 that killed more than 3,000 ON AMERICAN SOIL.

Yeah, Bush was President for all of those now wasn't he!!!.

Osama Bin Laden said at the onset, he would not win this war against us in the battlefield, he would bankrupt us, and the battle would not be lost in the battlfield, but in the American streets, by Americans.

Daily we are proving him right, especially with what is going on in Congress TODAY.
