 I usually like to move conversation off the site within a few email exchanges. That being said, I'd never give out my phone number or email right off the bat, that's what kik (or some other texting app, kik is my preferred one) is for. Phone numbers can be traced and if someone only wants to email, we can do that on the site. Real phone numbers are saved for AFTER we've met in person.

Here in the states, kik is just another texting app, like whatsapp or fb messenger. It's not a secret app or hideable (unless your phone can hide any app.) You can videochat with someone and text them without revealing your actual phone number. You can block someone if they get weird. Not sure if the UK version is different but I'd highly recommend it as most scammers want a phone number or an email to sell, they don't want to actually communicate for the purpose of meeting.

 Thanks for the comments and advice. It's exactly the sort of sensible discussion and the ability to string two sentences together that I've been missing from some of the messages I've received from the more robotic "females" on the site.

I'm learning to spot some of the danger signs fast: Only a single picture (more likely to be stolen), half completed profile (can't be seriously interested in this site), claim to be looking for life-long romance (really an a site where the opening page says its the world's largest sex and swinger community)
