Sowwy for any bigger delay than usual for going round the blogs. Apart from being busy at work and socially, especially in this lovely weather, my pc is having major hiccups and may give up the ghost completely soon

I learned today that a fellow member of the bike club that I belong to died of injuries sustained in a car crash in South Africa, where all his family are now. I didn't know him that well but we have had fun times on rideouts etc. But silly ol' big (not!) hairy biker me can't stop the occasional tears welling up! At least it wasn't a biking incident.
I never had emotional times like that until the joy of my first born ... bloody lol.
Ride In Peace 'Diesel' ...... I guess you can think of why his nickname was that lol.
Has anythimg close, but not too close affected you in such a way?

Although I don't think any of his readers have visited my blog here, just in case they do, he has asked me to let you know that he is still having problems logging in. And indeed with his 10+ year old computer! So it may be a while before he returns to blogland. But when he's all sorted, return indeed he will he says

Just to let anyone know who may be concerned, the following is part of what I received elswhere from him ......
"I still can't log into TSmeet, and I never heard back from them when I emailed them about it. It's annoying and frustrating. If you don't mind, write a short blog post at your blog letting everyone know I'm alive and well, and do plan on returning to blog further once I can log in."

That fekkin new Alerts bar at the bottom ......
It's slowing up every page on the site. And WTF do I want to know about peeps all over the world having uploaded a photo! Ok if it kept to cupid settings and friends but it doesn't.
I noticed it went away for a while, but it's back again grrrr.
What do you think?

Ok, this one is Christmassy!  lol.
The pic is not great, it's a scanned copy of a newspaper article of three years ago. But that's me with on the back in the foreground in the photo on the left
Tomorrow (Sunday) I will be dressing up as Santa on the bike with my riding pillion, along with hundreds, maybe thousands of other bikers (depending on the weather), to do a short, but very slow and long winded rideout from south Reading to a Dr. Barnardo's school/home in Wokingham to deliver Christmas presents we have bought for the . The presents are then distributed around the country to other vulnerable childrens charities as well as other Dr. Barnardo's homes  I've just finished dressing the bike up with tinsel, a reindeer's nose, antlers and a santa hat! There will be tea, coffee, soup and biscuits awaiting us, and a Christmas talk from one of the organisers, and a raffle/prize draw. The weather forecast looks like heavy rain in the morning but hopefully clearing up in the early afternoon. I have been a few times before and we always get really cold, and sometimes wet!
It is organised by the Reading Christian Bikers and the Thames Valley Advanced Motorcyclists, where they marshal the route with police as well, stopping the traffic for us and waving us on through any red traffic lights ...... fun eh! I'm not sure if you can put web links in here? But if you're interested to find out a little more, just google Reading Toy Run 2009
If anyone local reads this, why not come along and watch anywhere along the route. We will be waving at you all and maybe give you a high five if safe to do so!
